- During the early 80's a small company by the name of Springfield Office Supply was housed in leased retail space located on Baltimore Pike in Springfield, Pennsylvania.
- As a way to supplement their income after retiring the Leighton's opened their first office supply store in 1980. It was located in Newtown Square, PA and called Newton Square Office Supply.
- They went on to open 3 additional locations. two were located in Springfield and the last was in Frazer, PA.
- The commercial part of Springfield Office Supply opened out of the retail location on Baltimore Pike in the Cutler Plaza in Springfield, PA.

- In 1990 Office Basics moved to 80 LaCrue Street in Concordville, Pennsylvania.
- The move to Concordville made us feel like we were in the country. Styers Garden Center had not yet been sold and developed. Lunch was delivered or came from the closest Wawa. Of course for important meetings, The Concordville Inn was always one of the best facilities around.
- This gave Office Basics the space necessary to expand their operations.
- During their time in Concordville, Office Basics delivery foot print grew to encompass PA, NJ, DE and North Eastern MD.
- By 1999 Office Basics was on the move again.
- This time, ground was broken in Boothwyn, PA and the 100,000 sq. foot building that Office Basics is currently housed in was built.
- In this building approximately 10,000 items are inventoried.
- The web site www.officebasics.com is developed. Delivery is fast and convenient and orders are processed 24/5.
- Faster and easier picking and warehousing processes are facilitated.
- Office Basics accuracy levels rise to 98-99%.
- Orders are processed 24 hours per day, 5 days a week and are delivered the next business day.
- Office Basics Nextel Dispatch system is implemented.
- Working at Office Basics is fun, the days flew by.
- Our customers are delighted with all the new improvements this move allows us to facilitate. Business is good.

Boothwyn Location
Office Basics warehouses approximately 10,000 items and utilizes an automated conveyer/rail system to pick and pack customer orders. Office Basics operates 24/5.
Allentown Location
- Office Basics opens a location in Allentown, PA.
- Office Basics goes on to purchase Team Office Products and opens a larger facility in Allentown, PA.
Office Basics delivers throughout PA, DE, NJ and MD with their own Nextel Dispatched Fleet. Office Basics also delivers nationwide through their nationwide network.
Office Basics customer representatives have a minimum average of 5 years industry experience.
